Late-night rambling

Wow, I love only having three classes. Tonite was pretty busy, but actually entertaining in the "coffee and books" sort of way. I had a review for my Japanese Foreign Relations class, which was informative and interesting, as Leheny always is... especially when he's quoting Men in Black to describe the future of the East Asian region.

After that, I booked it over to Science Hall to catch the Student State of the City forum with Mayor Dave, Mike Verveer, and Austin King. Most of the people there were local and campus media, ASM or, like me, affiliated with one of the speakers. I asked a question about the timing of this year's Mifflin Street Block Party and got a pretty weak answer from Mayor Dave, although Verveer stepped in and helped out. I was interviewed by the Cardinal afterwards and I'm assuming that the story will be in tomorrow's paper, so hopefully I can link to it then instead of explaining it all here.

Seeing as its Wednesday, I had to get back to the dorm and watch the West Wing that Meilander so kindly taped and waited for me to see. It was a good one too... Josh and Toby got into a physical fight, there was blood drawn. Dramatic stuff, but still not as dramatic as tomorrow's ER, which is, from what I can tell by watching the ads, more dramatic than Saving Private Ryan, Million Dollar Baby and TNT combined.

Post West Wing was the Daily Show, which I've finally had time to watch this week. Peter Jennings was the guest. He's doing a special on UFO's, so you know JStew had some great questions for him.

Next up was Distractions, the oddly funny gameshow on Comedy Central where people have to answer trivia questions while undertaking in silly, difficult or painful tasks. The host is a British stand-up comedian with a dead-pan delivery that can make contestants crack up or re-evaluate their position in life. Overall, not a bad waste of a half-hour.

Then I headed to Ed's with Aleem, MJ, Meilander, Becky and Jackie to grab a late-night snack and some essentials (which for me included a new nalgene bottle). They really do have a lot of great food there, at least compared to what's offered here everyday.

After a bit of socializing and randomness, its finally time to hit the sack so I can get some sleep before my 8:50. I can't complain too much though, I'll be spending three hours tomorrow morning working with InDesign, trying to make a presentable layout. Basically, I'm playing around on the computer. Journalism's great. Good Night.
